Reformed Quote of the Month

"And yet some people actually imagine that the revelation in God's Word is not enough to meet our needs. They think that God from time to time carries on an actual conversation with them, chatting with them, satisfying their doubts, testifying to His love for them, promising them support and blessings. As a result, their emotions soar; they are full of bubbling joy that is mixed with self-confidence and a high opinion of themselves. The foundation for these feelings, however, does not lie within the Bible itself, but instead rests on the sudden creations of their imaginations. These people are clearly deluded. God's Word is for all of us and each of us; He does not need to give particular messages to particular people."

      - Jonathan Edwards

Excerpts from the Westminster Confession of Faith Shorter Catechism

Q. 96. What is the Lord's Supper?

A. The Lord's Supper is a sacrament, wherein, by giving and receiving bread and wine, according to Christ's appointment, his death is showed forth; and the worthy receivers are, not after a corporal and carnal manner, but by faith, made partakers of his body and blood, with all his benefits, to their spiritual nourishment, and growth in grace.

What Does it Mean to Be Human?:
The True Nature of Humanity Revealed

In this series "What it Means to Be Human", Pastor Stan McGehee Jr dicusses the problems we as humans face in finding out who we are. In part three Pastor Stan McGehee Jr considers man's futile search for true humanity and who it is that can accurately provide definition. To uncover this truth we must return to the source of our humanity, God. As our Creator and Sustainer, He alone is qualified to tell us who we are and why we are here. In part three, we will address the question of where to find God's knowledge of true nature of humanity. Read more here.

Choosing my Religion

Monday Night Bible Study

Starting Monday October 3rd we will a new study the 2004 Ligonier National Conference "A Portrait of God". Many Christians today do not know who God is. Often they come before His presense too lightly, not realizing this is indeed the God who holds their very breath. In this session we will listen to such speakers as R.C. Sproul, Ligon Duncan, Sinclair Ferguson, and many more and study the various attributes of God and how we as His people should respond to them. There is no book for this session so just come in ready for a great time of fellowship and discussion.
