Understanding the Lord's Will 4/23/2017

Ephesians

In Ephesians 5:15-16, Paul admonishes Christians to be diligent and aware that they might live wisely, buying back the time from this present evil age. In v. 17, he summarizes this as, “Do not be foolish but understand what the will of the Lord is.” The Christian life is to be lived deliberately, in accordance with God’s will. Generally speaking, God’s Word gives us sufficient direction concerning His will for the overall shape of our lives. However, finding His will in specific situations requires meditation upon God’s Word (2 Tim 2:7) that we might discover His good, acceptable and complete will (Rom 12:2).
