Children in the Lord 8/20/2017

Ephesians

Throughout Scripture, God has worked covenantally with families. This is carried over in the New Testament in Peter’s sermon on the day of Pentecost. In Ephesians 6:1-3, Paul directly addresses the children of the church as “in the Lord.” He expects them to attend corporate worship along side their parents and the rest of the believing community, participating together as one body of all ages. Our children should not be shielded from the means of grace but grow up breathing the atmosphere of the worshipping community.
