Some have suggested that the nativity accounts are in the wrong books. Luke, writing to Gentiles, records the few receptions of Jesus by the Jews but says nothing about the Gentile wise men. Matthew, writing to Jews, says nothing of those of his own nation who received Jesus and tells only about the Gentile wise men who came to worship the one born king. This message considers why both Matthew and Luke have included the appropriate nativity stories for their particular purposes.
