Yet I Will Rejoice in the Lord: The Book of Habakkuk

After King Josiah died, Judah descended into abject idolatry. The nation was plagued by iniquity, violence, destruction, strife and contention. It was a land devoid of justice in which the wicked far outnumbered the righteous. The prophet Habakkuk was appalled at the state of affairs and cried out to the Lord. As he looks for answers, the Lord obliges, eventually leading him to say, “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord.” The issues with which Habakkuk struggled are helpful to God’s people in every age, including ours.
