The Burden Habakkuk Saw 7/31/2022

Yet I Will Rejoice in the Lord: The Book of Habakkuk

The prophet introduces his encounter with the Lord as “the oracle that Habakkuk the prophet saw.” The word oracle refers to a burdensome message for which one raises his voice. The book begins with Habakkuk making his complaint. As the Lord answers, he discovers that the news is not good. Judah is headed for severe judgment. However, the prophet will not succumb to the temptation of promising peace and safety as the false prophets had done. He faithfully delivers the burden and comes to realize that God is working out His good purpose.
