A New Way for a New Day

May 10, 2026    Pastor Stan McGehee

Christ’s coming marked a transition from the old covenant to the new covenant. Through the illustrations of unshrunk cloth on old garments and new wine in old wineskins, Christ demonstrates that his coming represents not a patching up of the old system, but the inauguration of something entirely new. We live in an "already but not yet" time—the messianic age has dawned, but its full consummation awaits. This new reality calls believers to live with gratitude, recognizing that Christ didn't come to mend aspects of our old lives but to clothe us in his righteousness and give us new hearts. The ceremonial law has been fulfilled, and we now live under a superior covenant with abundant spiritual blessings.
