Sound the Alarm!

In Joel 2, the Lord commands, “Blow a trumpet in Zion; sound an alarm on holy mountain.” God was alerting His people to prepare for the coming judgment. The blast of the shofar is not a signal to man the ramparts but to man the Temple. It’s not a call to arms but a call to humble themselves before God. It was too late to escape the impending judgment, but for those who truly repented, there would be restoration.
